First Buckeye Regional 2025
The Buckeye Regional FIRST Robotics Competition is an annual high school robotics event held in Ohio as part of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) program. It's one of many regional competitions across the country and around the world where student teams come together to compete with robots they’ve designed, built, and programmed during a six-week build season.
Key Highlights:
- Hosted in Cleveland, Ohio, often at the Wolstein Center on the campus of Cleveland State University.
- Part of the international FIRST Robotics Competition, which was founded by inventor Dean Kamen to inspire young people’s interest and participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
- Teams are given a new challenge every year (called the “game”), and must design and build a robot to compete in that year's unique competition.
- The Buckeye Regional draws teams from across Ohio and sometimes from other states or even countries.
- It’s open to the public and includes high-energy competitions, opening ceremonies, and awards recognizing achievements in engineering, teamwork, and outreach.
Community Impact:
- Promotes STEM education and careers among high school students.
- Builds leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Encourages collaboration between students, mentors, industry professionals, and sponsors.
